WAVE Technology: Design
Varliux engineering team is the only one in the industry capable of analyzing an entire beam of light, rather than a
single ray. As a result, they can more easily and accurately identify distortion, and correct it to achieve optimal
acuity.
Patented, proprietary software then scans the entire surface of the lens, calculating the targeted optical function
for each point and each gaze direction. The result is a highly advanced lens design that reduces or eliminates
many higher order aberrations to deliver unsurpassed acuity.
W.A.V.E. Technology : Manufacturing
A design as advanced as Varilux Physio requires manufacturing just as progressive. Our breakthrough 360°
digital surfacing process is able to apply even the most complex surface designs of Varilux Physio with un
precedented, point by point accuracy: 1/10 micron.

VARILUX PHYSIO 360°: FRONT & BACK DESIGN
Thanks to W.A.V.E. Technology’s exclusive calculation software, the back side of the lens can now be computed
point by point. This allows us to optimize the back side to complement and enhance even the most complex front
designs.
Our patented 360°digital surfacing technology provides for the ultimate in lens performance by allowing these
complimentary front and back designs to be applied to Varilux Physio 360° with absolute precision
